From Stalingrad to Berlin The Illustrated Edition
From Stalingrad to Berlin: The Illustrated Edition by Earl Zeimke
2014 | ASIN: B00SGC4W0S, ISBN: 1783462477 | English | 640 pages | EPUB | 50 MB
With scarcely an interlude, the German-Soviet conflict in World War II lasted for 3 years, 10 months, and 16 days. The conflict seesawed across eastern and central Europe between the Elbe and the Volga, the Alps, and the Caucasus. The total number of troops continuously engaged averaged between 8 and 9 million, and the losses were appalling. Wehrmacht losses numbered between 3 and 3.5 million. Deaths on the Soviet side reached more than 12 million, about 47 percent of the grand total of soldiers of all nations killed in World War II. The war and the occupation cost theSoviet Union some 7 million civilians and Germany about 1.5 million. The losses, civilian and military, of Finland, the Baltic States, and eastern and southeastern European countries added millions more. The great struggle completely unhinged the traditional European balance of power. The war consolidated the Soviet regime in Russia, and enabled it to impose the Communist system on its neighbours, Finland excepted, and on the Soviet occupation zone in Germany. The victory made the Soviet Union the second-ranking world power. This book follows the conflict from Stalingrad to Berlin. Topics include strategy and tactics, partisan and psychological warfare, coalition warfare, and manpower and production problems faced by both countries, but by the Germans in particular. With a new introduction by Emmy AwardTM winning historian Bob Carruthers and numerous rare illustrations this powerful book makes for a welcome addition to any Second World War library.

From Insertion to Extraction Advanced Milsim CQB Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (Modern MILSIM)
From Insertion to Extraction: Advanced Milsim CQB Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (Modern MILSIM) by Craig White
English | October 5, 2019 | ISBN: 1076776914 | 384 pages | PDF | 18 Mb
Military Simulation (MILSIM) operations are not your run of the mill airsoft event. This is especially true for MILSIM events held at Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) sites. By their very nature, MILSIM events at MOUT sites are intended to simulate the chaos and confusion that comes with clearing buildings and other structures. Such operations require the effective use of Close Quarters Battle (CQB) Tactics, Techniques and Procedures to clear hallways, rooms and stairways in a series of close and personal engagements at extremely close range. This training manual follows on and adds to the lessons taught in "From Alpha to Omega, A MILSIM Tactical Primer and Training Manual". The focus in this training manual is advanced Close Quarters Battle (CQB) Tactics, Techniques and Procedures. As such, it is intended to assist airsoft players, teams and other small tactical elements to effectively engage and eliminate their opponents while ultimately achieving victory in close quarters environments. This training manual begins by teaching airsoft players the "anatomy" of rooms including the description of features in the target room and the location of the entry point (i.e. the door). It also describes and defines hallways based on their intersections with other hallways and entry points to adjoining rooms. Other topics include CQB decision making, stacking formations, dynamic room clearing, deliberate entry room clearing, limited penetration room clearing, room clearing techniques common to all room entry techniques, communications, room breaching, read/no read entry methods and post room clearing procedures. In addition, this manual proceeds to address in detail each individual team member's movements and responsibilities while utilizing dynamic, deliberate and limited penetration room clearing techniques. It is also intended to teach teams and other small tactical elements how to move effectively through hallways, how to clear hallway intersections, how to stack and clear a room directly from another room, how to clear both straight and commercial stairways and how to use two or more entry teams to clear successive rooms. It also explains he importance of communications, security and the establishment of standard operating procedures for the three dimensional environment that is CQB. This CQB tactical primer and training manual is designed to provide the tools to small teams and elements necessary to embrace the up close and personal chaos that is CQB, to effectively eliminate the "enemy" as they encounter them and to ultimately achieve victory.More importantly, this tactical primer and training manual is intended to provide a framework for airsoft teams and tactical elements to modify the CQB tactics, techniques and procedures contained herein to better fit their play style and to make them more effective. On the MILSIM battlefield, you must be more effective, more efficient and more flexible than your enemy to prevail. It is a game of wits where the best tactics win.

From Bulk to Structural Failure Fracture of Hyperelastic Materials
Philipp Laurens Rosendahl, "From Bulk to Structural Failure: Fracture of Hyperelastic Materials "
English | ISBN: 3658316047 | 2021 | 221 pages | PDF | 9 MB
This thesis investigates the fracture of nearly incompressible hyperelastic media. It covers the different characteristics of bulk material failure under dilatational or distortional loads and develops a unified description of the corresponding failure surface. It proposes a coupled strain and energy failure criterion for the assessment of notch-induced crack nucleation and presents a weak-interface-model that allows for efficient stress, strain and failure analyses of hyperelastic adhesive lap joints. Theoretical concepts for the measurement of fracture properties of nonlinear elastic materials are provided. The methodology is developed using two exemplary hyperelastic silicones, DOWSIL 993 Structural Glazing Sealant and DOWSIL Transparent Structural Silicone Adhesive, and is validated using large sets of experiments of different loading conditions.

From Alpha to Omega A Milsim Tactical Primer and Training Manual (Modern MILSIM)
From Alpha to Omega: A Milsim Tactical Primer and Training Manual (Modern MILSIM) by Craig R. White
English | August 2, 2018 | ISBN: 1983073091 | 191 pages | PDF | 7.16 Mb
Military Simulation (MILSIM) operations are not your run of the mill airsoft event. By their very nature, MILSIM events are intended to simulate military operations including the confusion and chaos that come with them. This training manual is not intended to teach basic airsoft skills or to provide recommendations for what equipment to buy for MILSIM events. Instead, it is about Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) that will assist airsoft players, teams and other small tactical elements to out-maneuver and defeat the opposing force to achieve victory at MILSIM events. This training manual begins by teaching airsoft players basic field-craft skills. Other topics including communications, close quarters battle techniques, battlefield formations, land warfare tactics, techniques and procedures build on that basic foundation. It is also intended to teach teams and other small tactical elements how to move tactically on the MILSIM battlement, how to use various forms of communication during operations, how to use drills to increase the survivability how to react to enemy contact, how to flank the enemy and how to use close quarters battle techniques and procedures to clear building rooms, hallways and stairways. It also explains the importance of communications, battle drills and security as well as how to apply these concepts to MILSIM. This tactical primer and training manual is designed to provide the tools to small teams and elements necessary to embrace the chaos on the MILSIM battlefield, to take the fight to the enemy and to achieve victory.More importantly, this tactical primer and training manual is intended to provide a framework for airsoft teams and tactical elements to modify the tactics, techniques and procedures contained herein to better fit their play style and to make them more effective. On the MILSIM battlefield, you must be more effective, more efficient and more flexible than your enemy to prevail. It is game of wits where the best tactics win.

Food Safety The Science of Keeping Food Safe
Ian C. Shaw, "Food Safety: The Science of Keeping Food Safe"
English | ISBN: 144433722X | 2012 | 440 pages | AZW3 | 6 MB
Food safety is a modern concept. Remarkably, it is only in the last 200 years that such concepts as foodborne germs, and the means of combating them (such as antiseptics and refrigeration), have been popularised. Yet in the 21st Century, consumers in the developed world do not accept that the food which they purchase and consume might carry a risk of making them ill - that our food should be safe is something we all take for granted.

Fluid Mechanics of Environmental Interfaces
Carlo Gualtieri, Dragutin T. Mihailovic, "Fluid Mechanics of Environmental Interfaces"
English | 2018 | ISBN: 1138074276 | PDF | pages: 494 | 7.0 mb
Environmental Fluid Mechanics (EFM) studies the motion of air and water at several different scales, the fate and transport of species carried along by these fluids, and the interactions among those flows and geological, biological, and engineered systems. EFM emerged some decades ago as a response to the need for tools to study problems of flow and transport in rivers, estuaries, lakes, groundwater and the atmosphere; it is a topic of increasing importance for decision makers, engineers, and researchers alike. The second edition of the successful textbook "Fluid Mechanics of Environmental Interfaces" is still aimed at providing a comprehensive overview of fluid mechanical processes occurring at the different interfaces existing in the realm of EFM, such as the air-water interface, the air-land interface, the water-sediment interface, the surface water-groundwater interface, the water-vegetation interface, and the water-biological systems interface. Across any of these interfaces mass, momentum, and heat are exchanged through different fluid mechanical processes over various spatial and temporal scales.
