Egon Erwin Kisch, the Raging Reporter A Bio-anthology
Egon Erwin Kisch, the Raging Reporter: A Bio-anthology By Kisch, E.E.;Segel, H.B.
1997 | 378 Pages | ISBN: 1557531005 | PDF | 7 MB
Egon Erwin Kisch (1885-1948) is widely regarded as one of the most outstanding journalists of the twentieth century. He is also credited with virtually defining reportage as a form of literary art in which accuracy of observation and fidelity to facts combine with creative narrative. Born in Prague under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Kisch began his career as a crime reporter for local newspapers. He saw combat in Serbia as a soldier in the Austro-Hungarian Army in World War I, led an abortive left-wing coup d'etat in Vienna in 1918, and became famous in the German-speaking world as der rasende Reporter (the raging reporter) when he exposed the attempted cover-up of a case of treason in high places that rocked the Habsburg Empire on the eve of World War I. He visited North Africa, the Soviet Union, Central Asia, Australia, China, and the United States, where he traveled from one coast to the other as an ordinary seaman, made friends with Charlie Chaplin and Upton Sinclair, and commented with wit and irony on American life.

Differentiability in Banach Spaces, Differential Forms and Applications
Differentiability in Banach Spaces, Differential Forms and Applications
English | 2021 | ISBN: 3030778339 | 369 Pages | PDF EPUB | 47 MB
This book is divided into two parts, the first one to study the theory of differentiable functions between Banach spaces and the second to study the differential form formalism and to address the Stokes' Theorem and its applications. Related to the first part, there is an introduction to the content of Linear Bounded Operators in Banach Spaces with classic examples of compact and Fredholm operators, this aiming to define the derivative of Fréchet and to give examples in Variational Calculus and to extend the results to Fredholm maps. The Inverse Function Theorem is explained in full details to help the reader to understand the proof details and its motivations. The inverse function theorem and applications make up this first part. The text contains an elementary approach to Vector Fields and Flows, including the Frobenius Theorem. The Differential Forms are introduced and applied to obtain the Stokes Theorem and to define De Rham cohomology groups. As an application, the final chapter contains an introduction to the Harmonic Functions and a geometric approach to Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism.

Die 25 Jahre der Philosophie Eine systematische Rekonstruktion
Die 25 Jahre der Philosophie: Eine systematische Rekonstruktion By Eckart Förster
2018 | 400 Pages | ISBN: 3465043421 | PDF | 4 MB

Daily Liturgical Prayer Origins and Theology
Daily Liturgical Prayer: Origins and Theology By Gregory W. Woolfenden
2004 | 338 Pages | ISBN: 0754616010 | PDF | 3 MB
Tracing the origins of daily prayer from the New Testament and Patristic period, through the Reformation and Renaissance to the present, this book examines the development of daily rites across a broad range of traditions including: Pre-Crusader Constantinopolitan, East and West Syrian, Coptic and Ethiopian, non-Roman and Roman Western. Structure, texts and ceremonial are examined, and contemporary scholarship surveyed. Concluding with a critique of the present tenor of liturgical revision, Gregory Woolfenden raises key questions for current liturgical change, suggests to whom these questions should be addressed, and proposes that the daily office might be the springboard for an authentic baptismal spirituality. The author explores how prayer and poetic texts indicate that the thrust of the ancient offices was a movement from night to morning - from death to resurrection.

Creation Basics & Beyond An In-Depth Look at Science, Origins, and Evolution
Creation Basics & Beyond: An In-Depth Look at Science, Origins, and Evolution By Various
2013 | 352 Pages | ISBN: 1935587307 | EPUB | 3 MB
Creation or evolution? This debate is one of the most vital issues of our time. It is extremely important for all people to know the truth about origins. The Christian especially needs to know the truth of the Genesis account of creation. After all, if the Bible is false on its very first page, then how can any rational person have confidence in what follows it?Fortunately, you don't need a doctorate in science to understand the basic lines of scientific evidence that surround the creation-evolution controversy. Nor do you need a theological degree to understand the basic theology and moral implications of creation. Written and reviewed by experts, Creation Basics & Beyond offers a thorough, yet understandable, introduction to the basic questions involved in the creation-evolution debate.Organized in short, readable chapters, this book demonstrates that not only does the scientific evidence not support evolution, it strongly confirms the biblical account of creation. Creation Basics & Beyond clearly shows that the Bible really is what it claims to be - the inspired Word of the living God.
