English | 2021 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B09PC66TQL | 55 pages | EPUB | 0.37 Mb
The study aims to understand and analyze the trade war between People Republic of China and United States of America, and its global implications. The study hypothesizes that the recent trade conflict between the two countries will continue. this uncertain situation will prevail in the global politics. The neo-realism framework has been employed in the study to conceptually understand it and the document analysis has been carried out around the various aspects of the Sino-US trade tension. The study found that the US is mostly responsible for the current trade tension and if things were not settled appropriately, the issue will be lingering on and including China and USA, the global world will have to face the economic consequences. In context of the emerging global trends of Sino-US warfare on trade and technology are the result of Americans shift from the multilateral cooperative stances for primacy doctrine. There is a fear of long-lasting global recession and new geopolitical confrontation if the both states choose to decouple their economies. The study recommends that both countries need to give space to each other and have composite and bilateral dialogues on the economic as well as the political issues to develop a consensus.

Short History of Europe
Gordon Kerr, "Short History of Europe"
English | 2011 | ISBN: 184243330X, 0857303457 | EPUB | pages: 166 | 0.5 mb
What is Europe? Firstly, of course, it is a continent made up of countless disparate peoples, races and nations, and governed by different ideas, philosophies, religions and attitudes. Nonetheless, it has a common thread of history running through it, stitching the lands and peoples of its past and present together into one fabric. This narrative is welded together by the continent's great institutions, such as the Church of Rome, the Holy Roman Empire, the European Union, individual monarchies, trade organisations and social movements. At times they have prevented anarchy from destroying the achievements of the many great men and women the continent has produced. At other times, of course, it is these very institutions that have been at the heart of the war and strife that have threatened to reduce Europe to ruin on numerous occasions. Europe, however, is also an idea. From almost the beginning of time, men have harboured aspirations to make this vast territory one. The Romans came close and a few centuries later, the foundations for a great European state were laid with the creation of the Holy Roman Empire - an empire different to any other in that it enjoyed the approval of God, through the Church in Rome. Napoleon overreached himself in attempting to create a European-wide Empire - as did Adolf Hitler. Now, however, Europe is as close as it ever has been to being one entity. The European Union is an ever-expanding club of which many seek membership, although, as the recent rejection of the European Constitution by the French and the Dutch and the Brexit vote demonstrate, we Europeans still cling to our national independence.

Sensibility, Reading and Illustration Spectacles and Signs in Graffigny, Marivaux and Rousseau
Ann Lewis, "Sensibility, Reading and Illustration: Spectacles and Signs in Graffigny, Marivaux and Rousseau"
English | 2017 | ISBN: 0367603306, 1905981961 | PDF | pages: 310 | 75.3 mb
"Eighteenth-century sensibilite has always been controversial. In fact, the term itself refers to complex forms of physical and emotional responsiveness, and Lewis's study investigates the fictional exploration of various key problems of sentimental response that were at the heart of eighteenth-century moral, epistemological and aesthetic debates. These are analysed in conjunction with some of the actual (often emotional) responses that the term, its fictions and images have provoked through time, including an indispensable survey of the varying construction of sensibilite as an object of study, and the polemics subtending its definition. The verbal evocation of the visual in the form of 'spectacles' and 'signs' was understood in the eighteenth century as having an especially powerful impact. Lewis provides a new reading of the theme of sensibility by analysing the 'textual images' in three best-selling novels from the mid-century: Graffigny's Lettres d'une Peruvienne, Marivaux's La Vie de Marianne and Rousseau's Julie. The examination of a largely neglected corpus of illustrations, understood as readings of each text, provides striking new evidence of the complexity, thematic richness and duplicity of these spectacles, whose power to provoke different reactions is perhaps their most interesting characteristic."

Seeking the Beloved Community A Feminist Race Reader
Seeking the Beloved Community: A Feminist Race Reader By Joy James, Beverly Guy-Sheftall
2013 | 352 Pages | ISBN: 1438446330 | PDF | 2 MB
Selected essays on radical social change.Written over the course of twenty years, the essays brought together here highlight and analyze tensions confronted by writers, scholars, activists, politicians, and political prisoners fighting racism and sexism. Focusing on the experiences of black women calling attention to and resisting social injustice, the astonishing scale of mass and politically driven imprisonment in the United States, and issues relating to government and civic powers in American democracy, Joy James gives voice to people and ideas persistently left outside mainstream progressive discourse-those advocating for the radical steps necessary to acknowledge and remedy structural injustice and violence, rather than merely reforming those existing structures."...this Joy James reader is at its core a portrait of 'the making of a dissident voice' ... What we most desperately need in a world that fears and silences opposition-or worse-are revolutionaries who speak truth to power and beckon us to stand with them in solidarity. A luta continua. The struggle continues." - from the Foreword by Beverly Guy-Sheftall"These broad-ranging essays circle around the topic of building community under siege. Communities can be 'thorny ties,' as Joy James notes, yet are vital for developing a critical consciousness on one's society. James also provides an astute analysis of the antirevolutionary trends in social theory today. Herein one will find the voice of a dissident humanist in full flower." - Linda Martín Alcoff, coeditor of Constructing the Nation: A Race and Nationalism Reader
