The Empress Is Naked From Female Privilege to Gender Equality and Social Liberation
Adam Leonas, "The Empress Is Naked: From Female Privilege to Gender Equality and Social Liberation"
English | 2015 | ISBN: 1522706046 | EPUB | pages: 244 | 1.5 mb
Are women oppressed today? If so, why is it that they live more? Why are they happier?Long-time political activist Adam Leonas examines the arguments about the oppression of women, and shows that all the supposed disadvantages are essentially trade-offs against much worse alternatives. He takes a fascinating look into the biology of the sexes, to find where female superiority and male weakness is located: sex. He argues that the point in history when the prehistoric gender balance was overturned was during "the worst mistake in human history": the Agricultural Revolution, where what he calls "the Female Coup d'etat" took place. The author, being unrelentingly radically progressive, concludes that in historic societies, capitalism included, women's power is greater due to their control over sex. He proposes radical ways for men to deal with their disadvantaged position, as well as radical ways to remedy the gender balance in society as a necessary prerequisite for equality and social peace.

The Dictatorship Syndrome
The Dictatorship Syndrome by Alaa Al Aswany
2019 | ISBN: 1912208598 | English | 176 pages | EPUB | 0.8 MB
The study of dictatorship in the West has acquired an almost exotic dimension. But authoritarian regimes remain a painful reality for billions of people worldwide who still live under them, their freedoms violated and their rights abused. They are subject to arbitrary arrest, torture, corruption, ignorance, and injustice. What is the nature of dictatorship? How does it take hold? In what conditions and circumstances is it permitted to thrive? And how do dictators retain power, even when reviled and mocked by those they govern? In this deeply considered and at times provocative short work, Alaa Al Aswany tells us that, as with any disease, to understand the syndrome of dictatorship we must first consider the circumstances of its emergence, along with the symptoms and complications it causes in both the people and the dictator.

The Aesthetics of Self-Harm The Visual Rhetoric of Online Self-Harm Communities
Zoe Alderton, "The Aesthetics of Self-Harm: The Visual Rhetoric of Online Self-Harm Communities"
English | ISBN: 1138638315 | 2018 | 224 pages | PDF | 4 MB
The Aesthetics of Self-Harm presents a new approach to understanding parasuicidal behaviour, based upon an examination of online communities that promote performances of self-harm in the pursuit of an idealised beauty. The book considers how online communities provide a significant level of support for self-harmers and focuses on relevant case studies to establish a new model for the comprehension of the online supportive community.

Tables of Excitations from Reactions with Charged Particles. Part 2 Z = 37 - 62
Tables of Excitations from Reactions with Charged Particles. Part 2: Z = 37 - 62 By S. I. Sukhoruchkin, Z. N. Soroko (auth.), H. Schopper (eds.)
2007 | 536 Pages | ISBN: 3540447113 | PDF | 9 MB
Volume I/19B (consisting of 3 subvolumes covering different ranges of Z) contains the compilation of parameters of nuclear bound states excited in reactions with charged particles. High-quality information on excited bound states situated above the low-lying levels but below the states seen as resonances is essential for the understanding of general properties of nuclei and is important for many applications. No systematic compilation of such data has been performed so far. The present compilation was prepared by two eminent experts in the fields. One of the characteristics of Landolt-Börnstein is that data are evaluated before they are accepted for compilation. The idea is to present 'best values' which can be used with confidence by non-experts. Subvolume I/19B2 contains the data for nuclei with Z ranging from 37 to 62. In view of the large amount of data available some of the information is given on the CD ROM only. Parameters for low-lying nuclear levels of many nuclei were previously published by Landolt-Börnstein in Volume I/18, and for nuclear unbound states in Volumes I/16 and I/19A.

Sybil, Queen of Jerusalem, 1186-1190
Sybil, Queen of Jerusalem, 1186-1190 by Helen J. Nicholson
English | December 15, 2021 | ISBN: 1138636517 | 176 pages | PDF + EPUB | 7 + 5 MB
Queen Sybil of Jerusalem, queen in her own right, was ruler of the kingdom of Jerusalem from 1186 to 1190. Her reign saw the loss of the city of Jerusalem to Saladin, and the beginning of the Third Crusade. Her reign began with her nobles divided and crisis looming; by her death the military forces of Christian Europe were uniting with her and her husband, intent on recovering what had been lost. Sybil died before the bulk of the forces of the Third Crusade could arrive in the kingdom, and Jerusalem was never recovered. But although Sybil failed, she went down fighting - spiritually, even if not physically.
