Digital techniques electronic instrument systems. Module 05 for B2 Level Certification By James W. Wasson
2015 | 174 Pages | ISBN: 1941144179 | PDF | 7 MB
Today's aircraft increasingly rely on digital technology and complex electronic systems, not just for instrumentation, navigation, and communications, but even for flight controls, system monitoring, maintenance planning, and more and more. Fiber optics and fly-by-wire is no longer the exception, but the rule. It is no longer limited to military, but now the basis of private and commercial aircraft both large and small. This module presents the B2 or CertTEC rated avionics technician with what he or she needs to know for both a understanding of these systems and the ability to work around them in an efficient and safe manner. A more basic version of this book, Module 5/B1 is also available from Aircraft Technical Book Company which covers these topics to the more limited depth required for the B1 mechanical technician and or engineer.

Detection of pathogenic infections in neurological disorders through recycling of gene expression data
English | 2021 | ISBN: 3736974094 | 143 Pages | PDF (True) | 10 MB
For increasing the knowledge about small RNA an online platform was built in this thesis, homogenizing the analysis of sequencing data from over 4,000 samples collected in different laboratories worldwide from various organisms. Consequentially, tissue and disease specific biomarkers were detected and evidence was found for bacterial and viral infections of the sequenced tissues. This motivated the development of an algorithm for analyzing non-host RNA sequencing reads for detecting pathogenic abundance in the host. Focusing on neurological diseases, bacterial presence is suggested in brains of dementia patients. The platform and the algorithm can help scientists to add important leads to their own studies.

Believe it or not, Blockchain technology will impact the world beyond cryptocurrency. Though introduced as a spinal cord of Crypto, blockchain technology is expanding its application. It is undoubtedly going to have an inevitable impact on our future. Here are some of the core domains that will change with Blockchain as the fuel:Cybersecurity: Data encryption that forms a central pillar for cybersecurity is based on blockchain technology. Unauthorised changes and hacks leading to data leakage are not possible with blockchain technology at guard.Banking and Payments: Digital money transfer featuring faster and safer money exchange is based on blockchain. May nationalised banks already use blockchain technology to initiate safer money exchanges and protect banking data.Unified Communications: one of the most significant domains where blockchain usage has risen by leaps and bounds is the unified communications system. Blockchains are forming a backbone for safer and more reliable communication with automated calling, encrypted emails, and much more

Raina MacIntyre, "Dark Winter: An insider's guide to pandemics and biosecurity"
English | ISBN: 1742237673 | 2022 | 256 pages | PDF | 3 MB
In Dark Winter, world-leading epidemiologist Professor Raina MacIntyre navigates the past, present, and future of pandemics and biosecurity. MacIntyre examines the history of biological warfare (and why it is called the 'poor man's nuke'), Soviet and US bioweapons programs, developments in genetic engineering, synthetic biology, and catastrophic laboratory accidents. She also explores the COVID-19 pandemic and the heated debate around its origins, and shares the analysis she has conducted in trying to determine whether it's a natural or unnatural pandemic. Looking ahead, MacIntyre outlines the future of genetic engineering, synthetic biology, and bioterrorism, and the national and global security needed to manage quantum changes in technology, along with how we might avoid future pandemics.

D-Day 1944: The Making of Victory by Anthony Tucker-Jones
English | August 1, 2019 | ISBN: 0750988037 | 304 pages | EPUB | 3.78 Mb
Two years earlier the Dieppe Raid had ended in disaster - despite their meticulous planning the Allies feared Operation Overlord might go the same way. Instead D-Day proved an incredible success; however, what followed was marred by serious mistakes on both sides resulting in three months of bitter fighting. Established military historian Anthony Tucker-Jones brings his expert eye to bear on the D-Day landings and subsequent Normandy campaign, using first-hand accounts to dramatically place the reader in the midst of the action, and revealing how Hitler's forces successfully avoided total annihilation by managing a quite extraordinary escape across the Seine. The unknown battle for Rouen was the key and is examined in depth for the very first time.
