The definition of success
The reason people have trouble achieving success is that they haven't figured out exactly what it means to be successful. That's why defining success is the first step in achieving it. The problem is that success is not really a destination. Success is actually a journey with stops along the way. Those stops are definitely the destinations you want to get to, but there is no "final destination" that you will arrive at where you will ultimately be happy. When it comes to being successful and happy, the only way to achieve this is to be constantly moving towards your goals. For example, let's say your goal is financial freedom, that is, to be wealthy enough to afford some of the finer things in life. You may want to eat at better restaurants instead of places like Chili's or Applebees (or fast food). Once you have built enough wealth to be able to afford restaurants where the bill always amounts to at least $100, you still won't be satisfied.
