Cimatronis an integrated CAD/CAM solution for toolmakers and manufacturers of discrete parts, which provides full associativity across the manufacturing process from quoting, through design and up to delivery. Products include: Mold Design, Electrode Design, Die Design, 2.5 to 5-Axis NC Programming and 5-Axis Discrete part production. Cimatron is designed for concurrent engineering (multi-user or single-user) and works on the principle of flexible automation, providing a wealth of automated features but always ensuring full user control.
Version 16is a substantial release introducing many new features in all areas of the product including a clean new UI and increased automation for faster mold design, electrode creation, and NC programming. In addition, the continued emphasis on solutions for toolmakers includes powerful functionality for die addendum surfaces, mesh manipulation, and drafting detailing.

Sandvik has signed an agreement with Battery Ventures to acquire US-based CAMBRIO, a leading company with an end-to-end portfolio in CAD/CAM software for manufacturing industries like automotive, transportation, energy, medical and aerospace. CAMBRIO will be reported in the Design & Planning Automation division within Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions. By acquiring CAMBRIO, Sandvik will establish an important position in the CAM market that includes both toolmaking and general-purpose machining. This will complement the existing customer offering in Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions. CAMBRIO's product portfolio includes GibbsCAM for production milling, turning, and mill turn operations, Cimatron for mold and die, as well as SigmaNEST for sheet metal fabrication.
